Furnished apartments in Sobha Hartland, MBR City
Sobha Hartland feels less like a city district and more like a large garden that happens to have towers in it. It is a gated community that Sobha Realty built inside Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, with the creek nearby and the wildlife sanctuary at Ras Al Khor close at hand. It is mostly apartments and villas, set among landscaped gardens.
Our apartments here are in The Crest, one of the residential towers. For a stay of a few months where quiet evenings matter more than nightlife, it makes a strong case. If you want the city right outside the lobby, it probably isn't.

Nightly prices are before taxes: 5% VAT and, in Dubai, the Tourism Dirham fee are added and listed line by line before you send a request. A refundable security deposit may apply.

Daily life behind the gates
The pace is slower than in the centre. Days here tend to revolve around the building and the gardens rather than the street. Morning swims, an evening walk through the landscaping, children on the playground before dinner. The community mixes apartments and villas, so it reads as residential first, not a nightlife or office area.
The Crest gives you a lot without leaving the tower: a residents' pool, a gym, a health club, sports courts, spa facilities, a playground and a BBQ area. Security runs around the clock. For families there is another practical point: there are international schools inside the community itself.
Getting out and about
Downtown Dubai and Business Bay are a short drive, so if your work is in either, this is a realistic base. Al Khail Road is the main road, and it is the one you will get to know.
There is no Metro station in the community. Be clear about that before you commit. The building lists a shuttle service running out to Mall of the Emirates, which helps for shopping trips, but it is not a substitute for your own transport on a daily commute. Allocated parking is included, so a car is easy to live with here.
Picking the right layout
We don't tend to have studios in Sobha Hartland. Our homes here lean towards one-bedrooms and larger apartments, which suits the place. People come here for space, and a bigger layout makes the most of that.
A one-bedroom works well for a single professional or a couple here on a contract that runs for a season, with room to keep work and sleep apart. If you are arriving with children, or splitting a long stay with a workmate, ask us whether a two-bedroom is free for your dates, because a second bedroom changes how a few months under one roof feel. With schools in the community and a playground in the building, it is one of the more family-friendly places we manage.
The honest downsides
Without a car, Sobha Hartland can feel cut off. Taxis are workable, but if you plan to rely on public transport every day, you will be happier somewhere on a Metro line. And if you want the energy of the city centre around you every evening, the quiet that makes this place appealing will work against you, so we would suggest looking closer in.
If you are here for a short work trip with long days in the city and no interest in the pool or gardens, a central apartment will make more sense. If you want quiet, greenery and room to breathe, this is where we would point you.
Questions people ask
Can I manage in Sobha Hartland without a car?
You can, but it is harder than in central areas. There is no Metro station in the community, so you will lean on taxis. The building's shuttle to Mall of the Emirates covers shopping runs, not commuting.
Is parking included with the apartment?
Yes, the building lists allocated parking as included. That makes Sobha Hartland a comfortable choice if you are hiring or bringing a car for your stay.
How does Sobha Hartland compare for a family whose children are at school?
It is one of the better ones. There are international schools inside the community, and The Crest has a playground, a pool and a BBQ area. The gated setting and round-the-clock security help too.
How far is it from Downtown Dubai and Business Bay?
Both are a short drive away, and Al Khail Road is the main road you will use. Traffic varies with the time of day, so if you have a fixed start time, try the route at rush hour before you settle into a routine.
