Furnished apartments in Port de La Mer, Jumeirah 1
Port de La Mer sits on a peninsula off the Jumeirah 1 coast. Meraas built it with its own marina and a run of low- and mid-rise buildings in a Mediterranean style. La Côte, La Voile, La Sirène: the names set the mood. It feels more like a small harbour town than a tower district.
It is also young. A few of the buildings are fresh from handover, and the streets around them are still being filled in. For a stay of a few weeks or months that is mostly a plus. You get recently handed-over buildings, and La Mer's beachfront is right next door.

An ordinary day on the peninsula
Life here runs along the water. There is a seaside and marina promenade, jogging and cycling tracks, landscaped gardens and shared courtyards. With La Mer next door, a run on the tracks and a coffee on the beachfront can share a morning without the car.
Depending on the building, you will find a pool (some have an infinity pool), a gym, children's play areas, BBQ areas and lounges, including a business lounge if you need somewhere other than the sofa for a call. Some buildings also have spa facilities and private landscaped terraces. There is a yacht club and a retail area in the community. Because the surroundings are still filling in, check what is open near your building before you count on it for everyday shopping.
Getting around
Most residents drive or use taxis, and you should plan on doing the same. Downtown and City Walk are a short drive away, and so is Mercato Mall. On foot, you can reach La Mer's beach and restaurants. For much else you will want wheels.
Our buildings here list allocated parking, which matters if you are bringing or renting a car. Ask us about the space for the specific apartment. Hospitals and clinics are within reach, which families tend to ask about first.
Which apartment suits whom
Our mix in Port de La Mer leans larger: mostly two-bedrooms, with the occasional one-bedroom. That suits families, couples who want a spare room for visitors or work, and colleagues sharing on a project. On a long stay with several adults, ask about the bathroom layout of the apartment you like; it matters more than people expect.
If you are on your own for a few weeks, a one-bedroom is the better fit when we have one. We do not have studios on our Port de La Mer list at the moment. If you need one, you are likely to find more choice elsewhere.
The trade-offs, honestly
This is not a place for someone who refuses to drive or take taxis. If you commute daily, plan around driving or taxis, since that is how most residents get about.
Because the community is still young and its surroundings are still filling in, the streets around some buildings can feel unfinished. If you want a busy, lived-in neighbourhood with everything at street level, an older district will suit you better.
If what you want is space, sea air, a pool and quiet nights within a short drive of Downtown, it works very well.

Questions people ask
Is a car essential for a stay on the peninsula?
Not strictly, but most residents drive or use taxis. You can walk to La Mer's beachfront. Downtown, City Walk and Mercato Mall are a short drive rather than a walk.
Does Port de La Mer suit parents with young kids?
It is one of the better fits. Buildings have children's play areas and pools, the promenade and gardens are easy for small legs, and the beach is next door. Our apartments here are mostly two-bedrooms, which helps.
Can I walk to the beach?
Yes. La Mer, with its beach, cafés and restaurants, sits right beside Port de La Mer, so the beach is part of everyday life rather than a weekend outing.
Will it feel like a building site?
It is a young community. Some buildings are newly handed over and the surroundings are still filling in. Parts of the peninsula already look settled, while other corners are still catching up. Mention the apartment that caught your eye and we can describe how settled the streets around that building are.
