Furnished apartments in La Sirène, Port de La Mer

La Sirène is not a tower. It is a group of low-rise residential buildings on the Port de La Mer peninsula, which changes the feel of daily life more than you might expect. If you have only lived in high-rises in Dubai, that lower scale is worth seeing for yourself before you decide, and it suits a community built on a peninsula with its own marina.

We manage furnished apartments across more than one of the La Sirène buildings. What follows is our honest take on living here for a month or a season.

Nightly prices are before taxes: 5% VAT and, in Dubai, the Tourism Dirham fee are added and listed line by line before you send a request. A refundable security deposit may apply.

Day to day in the building

The shared facilities cover the basics well. There is a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a BBQ area and a kids' play area, and the buildings sit on the seaside and marina promenade, so a morning walk is out of the door rather than a drive away. A yacht club is part of the setting too. If you have no interest in boats, it simply adds to the look of the place.

Private landscaped terraces are listed among the building's features, but ask us whether the apartment you are considering has one rather than assuming it does. Security staff and CCTV are in place. Allocated parking is included, and you will likely use it: most residents of Port de La Mer drive or rely on taxis.

What we have here

What we have in La Sirène at the moment is two-bedroom apartments. That suits families, couples who need a home office, or two colleagues sharing on a project. A solo traveller would mostly be rattling around next to a spare bedroom they never open, so we would usually steer you to another building.

Who it suits

La Sirène works best for people who want calm and water views over nightlife on the doorstep. Families get a pool and play area within the building, and the La Mer beachfront of cafés and restaurants is right next to the community. Reaching Downtown or City Walk means a brief spell in the car, not a long commute.

The downside: Port de La Mer is still young. Parts of the community have only recently been handed over and the gaps around them are still being filled, so expect a quieter, less finished neighbourhood than the established parts of Jumeirah.

Questions people ask

How do La Sirène residents get around?

Mostly on four wheels: the building includes allocated parking, and taxis fill the gaps. The La Mer beachfront sits right next to the community, but for Downtown, City Walk and most other errands, plan on a car or taxis.

Is it a good building for children?

Yes, within reason. Children can burn off energy at the pool and the play area without leaving the building, security staff and CCTV are on site, and the seaside and marina promenade makes for an easy family walk. The low-rise scale also makes it feel less anonymous than a large tower.

Will the surroundings feel unfinished?

In places, yes. Port de La Mer is a young community and the area around it is still filling in. If you want a fully settled street life, factor that in. If you want quiet, it is part of the appeal.
