Furnished apartments in DAMAC Privé, Business Bay

DAMAC Privé is two residential towers, A and B, sitting by the Dubai Water Canal in Business Bay. The facilities go well beyond the basics: a lobby lounge, a spa, food and drink outlets downstairs, and a pool that looks out over the water.

We have furnished homes in both towers for stays of a few weeks to several months, and shorter if that is what you need. What follows is what living here is actually like, including the parts that won't suit everyone.

Day to day in the building

The pool is the thing people mention first, and fairly so. It overlooks the canal, which makes an evening swim feel less like a building amenity and more like going out. There is also a gym and a health club with spa facilities, so if your routine involves training before work, you won't need an outside membership.

Downstairs you have food and drink outlets and a retail promenade, which helps on the evenings you can't face going anywhere. Security staff are on duty at every hour, which is reassuring if you keep late working hours, and landscaping softens the approach to the towers. Parking is the practical win: an allocated space is included, and there is valet as well. In a district where the access roads clog up, not hunting for a space matters more than it sounds.

Our apartments here

Right now, what we have in DAMAC Privé is studios, with homes in both towers. They are furnished for everyday living, and a studio layout suits one person or a couple. Depending on the unit, some face the canal. Which units are free shifts all the time, so treat a canal view as something to ask us about rather than a given.

Be realistic about space. A studio works well for a solo professional or a couple. A family planning to stay for months will probably feel cramped, even with the kids' facilities downstairs.

Who it suits

Consultants and relocating staff working in Business Bay or Downtown get the most out of it. The Red Line stop at Business Bay is minutes from the building, Downtown and Dubai Mall are next door, and the canal path is right there for a walk or a ride after work.

The trade-off is the district itself. Weekdays are busy with office traffic, and rush hour on the few roads in and out is slow. Business Bay does quieten in the evenings away from the canal, but this building sits by the water, so don't count on that calm right outside. If you want a residential neighbourhood feel, this isn't it. If you want to be close to work with a good pool to come home to, it is a strong choice.

Questions people ask

Can I bring a car while I stay at DAMAC Privé?

Yes. Allocated parking is included, and the building also has valet parking. The bigger issue is traffic on Business Bay's access roads at rush hour, so plan your commute times.

Is it workable without a car for a month or more?

For many people, yes. You are minutes from the Business Bay stop on the Red Line, Downtown is next door, and the canal path makes short trips on foot or by bike pleasant once it cools down.

Does the building work for children?

The building has a kids' club and a play area, plus the pool. The limiting factor is the apartment size: our homes in these two towers are studios for now, which suit a parent with a young child for a short stay better than a family settling in for months.
